Cake! Alley came to Sydney.
For four days in July 2026 we took over a corner of the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair with a whole pavilion of live cake decorating and sugar art. Five of Australia's finest decorators taught on the stage and at the bench, there was a hands-on session running most of the day, and a different Sip & Decorate workshop each afternoon.

What Cake! Alley is
A pavilion built for cake people.
Cake! Alley is the cake decorating and sugar art pavilion that the Australian Cake Decorating Network brings to craft fairs around the country. It puts live demonstrations, hands-on sessions and the brands you actually buy from in one place, so you can watch a technique, try it yourself, and pick up what you need on the way out. In Sydney it ran on three things.
Hands-on make & take
Ten to fifteen minute cookie and cupcake sessions that suited every age and every level of experience. No booking, no pressure, and something to carry home at the end of it.

A curated retail run of the country's most trusted cake decorating names: tools, colours and non-perishables, with the people who make them standing behind the counter.

How it went
Four days, and then it was over.
Four days, five teachers, four Sip & Decorate workshops, and a pavilion full of the brands people actually buy from. The stages ran demonstrations each day, the make and take benches ran alongside them, and Copha's Coral Crackle proved almost impossible to walk past without stopping for a photograph.
